Often we feel confused, anxious or downright depressed about the role that money has played in our lives. We wish for a change, but are at a loss to make it happen. This story is one told repeatedly in the workshop. These same women leave revitalized and confident that they understand the feelings which controlled their actions with regard to their money behaviour. Despair turns into a challenge met with joy and optimism. Money becomes just a tool that can be used to create peace and harmony in their lives.

Some obstacles women face

Men and women share some of the same blocks when it comes to handling money in a productive way, but women have some unique blocks or obstacles that we can identify and work through in the course of the workshop.

Feeling undeserving of the reward or power of money. This attitude can produce guilt and anxiety over having more than someone else.
Women have been socialized to believe that taking an interest in money isn't feminine, and that those who do so successfully are less feminine than their inept counterparts.
Many women are intimidated by mathematical calculations and therefore shun money as being too complicated.
Many women were given the impression from a young age that only the males in the family needed to know anything about money matters, and so consequently feel incapable of dealing with money.
Money is still in many ways a taboo subject and women seem to feel if they don't acknowledge or talk about it, it willl sort itself out magically or someone else will come to the rescue and deal with it for them.
Unexamined belief systems around the subject of money from childhood and on keep women stuck in unproductive actions manifesting unpleasant results.

What you will learn in this workshop

A number of women for whom making decisions involving money has been torturous have uncovered the fears that block their effectiveness in this area and have freed up energy that can be channeled into other areas of their lives.

Women who have been living with the dream that prince charming will come along someday and take care of the problems they have created, have awoken from that “Cinderella” dream and decided to become financially independent while awaiting their prince.
Those suffering from the “Baglady syndrome”, the constant haranguing of the unconscious that you will end up homeless and penniless living at the mercy of strangers, are able to deconstruct that myth.
Women who have experienced bankruptcy have used the Women & Money Workshop to come to terms with their spending habits.
Participants who have spent much of their lives denying their financial situation, refusing to open statements from banks, brokers and /or creditors have been able to grasp how simple it is to face their destructive patterns.

Would you build your home on swampland? Of course not. You would take the time to research the most solid piece of land upon which to build this structure that you expect to last a long time. Well how can you hope to have financial stability trying to build on values and attitudes that belong to someone else’s belief system? Those issues are what we work on in the Women & Money Workshop.

Format and Cost

Women & Money is a 3-day workshop held in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. This is an experiential workshop. Each day you will spend 3 hours in lecture, written exercises and small group sharing. Workshops are limited to 10 women for intimacy.
